A man suspected of committing an assault with a deadly weapon and who barricaded himself inside a business is in police custody, authorities said Thursday.
The suspect surrendered to detectives around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s deputy Veronica Fantom told City News Service.
Deputies responded to the 2700 block of West Valley Boulevard near South Fremont Avenue at around 7:12 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a man suspected of committing an assault with a deadly weapon and who barricaded himself inside a business, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau personnel who were sent to Alhambra to assist detectives with the suspect were joined by a crisis negotiation team to persuade the suspect to surrender.
