The suspect surrendered to detectives around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s deputy Veronica Fantom told City News Service.

Deputies responded to the 2700 block of West Valley Boulevard near South Fremont Avenue at around 7:12 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a man suspected of committing an assault with a deadly weapon and who barricaded himself inside a business, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
