A brush fire that erupted Friday on the east end of Mead Valley burned four acres before crews stopped it.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 4:20 p.m. in the area of Cajalco Road and Harvill Avenue, just west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning at a moderate rate through a field.
No homes or other structures were threatened, and firefighters used surrounding roads as natural fire breaks, stopping the brusher’s forward rate of spread just before 5 p.m.
The blaze was completely contained at 5:15 p.m. Crews were expected to finish mopping up by nightfall.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
