A brush fire that erupted Tuesday just west of Perris blackened nearly an acre before crews stopped it.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 11:15 a.m. in the area of Lukens Lane and West San Jacinto Avenue in the unincorporated community of Good Hope, which borders the Perris city limits, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium vegetation in open space, not approaching homes.

Firefighters deployed around the brusher, encircling it less than 20 minutes later, according to reports from the scene.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
