A person was taken to a hospital Monday from a commercial building in Chatsworth where an odor from an unknown chemical resulted in the evacuation of about 100 people from the structure.
Firefighters were sent to the 9300 block of North De Soto Avenue shortly after 9 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Four people were examined for unspecified “complaints,” and one was taken to a hospital, the LAFD reported.
The source of the odor was under investigation, but there was “no widespread or escalating hazard,” according to the LAFD.
Traffic was routed away from the area as a precaution.
