Firefighters contained and knocked down a stubborn fire Tuesday at a three-story home on a sloping hillside in Lincoln Heights.
Fire crews were called at 2:17 a.m. to 2335 N. Coral St., south of North Broadway where they found flames shooting from the attic and fire on all three floors, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Firefighters used ladders to gain access to the roof for vertical ventilation and after gaining entry to the residence, used hose lines to put out the flames floor by floor, Prange said.
It took 73 firefighters 88 minutes to extinguish the flames.
A firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries after coming into contact with electricity and was taken to a hospital.
