An attic fire at a one-story home in North Hills was extinguished Thursday.
Firefighters were called at 3:59 a.m. to 16419 W. Nordhoff St., west of Woodley Avenue where they learned a broken gas line was helping to fuel the fire, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Prange said excessive storage inside the home made it difficult for fire crews to operate as they battled the flames before and Southern California Gas responded to shut off the main.
It took 38 firefighters 82 minutes to put out the flames.
No injuries were reported.
