A house fire in Redondo Beach Tuesday that sent plumes of black smoke high into the air was extinguished by firefighters within minutes.
Firefighters responded at 5 p.m. to the intersection of Kingsdale and Grant avenues regarding a fire that prompted occupants to leave their homes, KCAL reported.
The fire threatened several structures. A nearby powerline caught fire.
There were no injuries reported.
KCAL reported that residents attempted to contain the fire with water hoses but were unsuccessful.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
