A pedestrian was stuck and killed while walking along a street in Good Hope, authorities said Friday.

The victim, identified only as a man, was fatally hit about 7:40 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Old Elsinore Road and San Jacinto Avenue, less than two miles west of Perris, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said the driver of a sedan ran into the pedestrian on Old Elsinore, but no other details were immediately available.

The motorist immediately stopped and called 911.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within 10 minutes and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

CHP officers questioned but did not arrest the driver.

The investigation is ongoing.
