A suspect has been arrested for allegedly shoving or kicking an 84-year-old woman off a Metro bus in South Los Angeles, who was reportedly seriously injured.
The incident occurred Tuesday. Officers were dispatched at about 2:50 p.m. to 24th Street and Vermont Avenue regarding a “battery on the bus,” the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division told City News Service.
A suspect was arrested the same day in connection with the attack, but police did not release any further information.
According to Fox11, the victim was violently pushed or kicked off the bus and landed hard on the curb, while the woman who allegedly attacked her was apprehended after exiting the bus and trying to leave the scene. The incident was partially captured on a nearby security camera.
The station said the woman suffered serious injuries over much of her body and was hospitalized.
