Riverside County sheriff’s deputies Saturday arrested two underage drinkers who were involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian after they had procured beer.

The crash was reported at 6:26 a.m. in the area of Redlands and Alessandro boulevards, according to sheriff’s Sgt. M. Martinez.

“Deputies arrived quickly and located an injured pedestrian and the abandoned suspect vehicle,” Martinez said.

“Witnesses reported the suspects completed a beer run and, during their getaway, lost control of their vehicle and hit the pedestrian,” the sergeant said. “Three suspects fled on foot into the residential neighborhood.”

A search yielded the arrests of two of the suspects, Martinez said.

The driver, 19-year-old Neftali Larios, was booked for suspicion of felony hit-and-run and DUI, Martinez said. Passenger Jose Rios, 20, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Both live in Moreno Valley. The third suspect, described as a 19-year-old man, remained at large.
