A 34-year-old Pasadena man died Wednesday after being struck by a Freightliner tractor on State Route 74 in the Winchester area.
The crash was reported around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound State Route 74 west of Amanda Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators found that a 59-year-old Hemet man was driving a 2019 white Freightliner tractor towing a trailer eastbound on the highway when his vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was walking on the roadway west of Amada Avenue.
The pedestrian became airborne and was propelled in a southeasterly direction onto the shoulder of the road, authorities said.
An ambulance rushed him to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
