Fire crews hoisted two hikers and a small dog to safety Tuesday near Bronson Caves in Griffith Park.

Air and ground crews responded to the area at about 7:45 p.m. to a report of two hikers and their pet dog stranded in very steep terrain, according to spokesman Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Personnel safely hoisted both hikers and the dog aboard a hovering LAFD helicopter. The hikers were taken to a hospital for minor injuries, Humphrey said. The dog was uninjured.

No further information was immediately available.
