A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a 2014 Honda Civic in Irwindale was publicly identified Sunday.

Antonio Macias was a 25-year-old Duarte resident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Irwindale police officers were called at 7:10 p.m. Friday to Morada Street and Arrow Highway, said Sgt. Diego Cornejo.

They learned the Civic was turning left from Moraga onto Arrow Highway and the black 2021 Honda Rebel motorcycle was westbound on Arrow Highway when the two collided at the intersection, Cornejo said.

A witness called 911 and Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene, but the motorcyclist now identified as Macias was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Civic remained and cooperated with police, Cornejo said. It was not known whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.

The crash temporarily closed all lanes of Arrow Highway between Anyon and Vincent avenues.

Anyone with information about this collision was asked to call Officer Steven Ortiz at 626-2244 or email sortiz@irwindaleca.gov.
