A brush fire erupted Tuesday on the south end of Lakeview, burning roughly an acre and threatening a residence before crews began working their way around it.
The non-injury blaze was reported at about 1:30 p.m. in the area of Juniper Flats and Stagecoach roads, about two miles north of Highway 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews from the county and nearby municipal fire departments were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate through light vegetation, heading in the direction of a house in the 33100 block of Stagecoach.
Several Cal Fire air tankers from Hemet-Ryan Airport less than 10 miles away were requested to make runs on the brusher, aiding crews as they established tentative containment lines, according to reports from the scene.
No evacuation orders were imminent as of 2:10 p.m.
There was no immediate word on what might have triggered the blaze.
