A man was found dead Friday after authorities extinguished a fire at the Metro Long Beach Boulevard Station in Lynwood.
Deputies were sent to the 11500 block of Long Beach Boulevard about 7 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo, deputies discovered a fire at the Long Beach Boulevard Station and once the flames were extinguished, the human remains were found.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the man or his cause of death.
Metro C (Green) Line rail service was suspended at the station during the investigation. Buses were brought in to shuttle rail passengers between the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station and the Lakewood Station, according to Metro, which advised passengers to allow 10 to 15 minutes of extra time.
The station was reopened and rail service returned to normal around 3 p.m.
