It took 30 firefighters 22 minutes to put out a smoky attic fire in a two-story fourplex in the Vermont Square neighborhood of Los Angeles Sunday evening.

The fire was reported at 6:18 p.m. at 4266 S. Hoover St., west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange. It was out at 6:40 p.m.

“LAFD firefighters coordinated their efforts to carefully protect items in the fourplex, before opening up the ceiling and roof to access fire in the attic with hose lines,” Prange said.

No injuries were reported, he said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
