A fire burned a half-acre half of vegetation near the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar Tuesday.

Firefighters responded near the eastbound portion of the freeway around 5:55 p.m. to reports of a brush fire, according to spokesman Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There were no reports of injuries or structural damage.

It is unclear what may have sparked the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
