A fire tore through a doublewide mobile home in Menifee Friday, causing major damage that displaced the five occupants, all of whom escaped uninjured.
The blaze was reported about 4:50 p.m. in the 28000 block of Connecticut Drive, near Montana Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke billowing out of the doublewide trailer.
Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading beyond the residence, completely containing the blaze at 5:30 p.m., officials said.
Damage to the structure made it uninhabitable.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the five occupants with finding temporary alternate lodgings.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
