Authorities Saturday were seeking the public’s help identifying a hit-and-run driver who injured a 14-year-old boy in Corona.

Officers from the Corona Police Department responded to the intersection of Upper Drive and Rimpau Avenue at around 8:25 a.m. Friday, where a 14-year-old boy was struck by a car while riding his bicycle to school.

The car failed to stop at the scene and continued westbound on Upper Drive, police said.

Paramedics took the boy to a hospital with injuries to his abdomen, where he was listed in stable condition.

An initial investigation led officers to a potential suspect, but that individual was cleared after additional evidence was processed, according to police.

Anyone with additional information about the accident was encouraged to contact Officer Kevin Matty at 951-817-5764.
