Flames Saturday evening damaged a vacant Craftsman-style house in the Harvard Heights area of Los Angeles but were extinguished before they could spread to adjacent structures.
The fire was reported at 7:54 p.m. at 1116 S. Ardmore Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.
Flames were showing from the 1,700-square-foot home when firefighters arrived and spread to adjacent vegetation and threatened nearby homes, Humphrey said.
Firefighters protected the nearby homes by putting out the flames in under 15 minutes, he said.
No injuries were reported.
