A person was stabbed on a platform at the Metro Perishing Square Station Thursday.
The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The stabbing occurred around 5:20 p.m., police said.
The suspect was last seen fleeing up the stairs from the station to the street, police said.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall Black man weighing 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a black backpack, police said.
The police investigation will cause trains to bypass the station, Metro’s Patrick Chandler told City News Service.
It’s unclear what may have motivated the stabbing.
