A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a MetroLink train in Sylmar and Friday authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Division responded at 10:20 p.m. Thursday to 12887 N. San Fernando Road and Bledsoe Street where they learned the victim was standing on the northbound train tracks and struck by the train, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s age, name and gender were not immediately known.
