A vacant two-story commercial building fire with intense flames in South Los Angeles was knocked down Monday within 37 minutes with no reported injuries.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey, 62 firefighters responded to the 4100 block of South Broadway between West 41st Place and West 42nd Street around 2:45 p.m. regarding a structure fire at a 99 Cent Store. A fire had previously broken out at the same location, according to Humphrey.
It’s unclear what may have sparked the flames, and the fire remains under investigation.
