Two people were arrested for driving while intoxicated during a DUI/driver’s license operation Saturday in Pomona.

In addition to the two arrests, 20 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license or with a suspended/revoked license and eight vehicles were towed at the checkpoint, according to the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau.

The checkpoint was conducted from 9 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday at Mission Boulevard and Curran Place. A total of 739 vehicles were screened during the operation.

In 2022, the Pomona Police Department investigated 98 DUI collisions that resulted in two deaths and injured 46 people.
