A 30-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for human trafficking of an underage victim in Stanton.

Treneir D. Middlebrook was convicted of one count of human trafficking of a minor and one count of pandering with a minor older than 16.

Police pulled over the defendant about 9:30 p.m. March 3 at Beach Boulevard and Starr Street in Stanton because the RAM 1500 truck he was driving had tinted windows and expired tags, according to prosecutors.

Two victims were in the vehicle with the defendant, prosecutors said.

One of the victims was 17 and said she had been working as a prostitute since she was 13, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors argued for eight years in prison while defense attorneys advocated for three years, according to court records. Middlebrook was given credit for 406 days in custody.
