A Los Angeles man in a wheelchair was fatally struck in North Hollywood and the medical examiner’s office Saturday released his name.
Peter Arata was 56 years old.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division responded just before 11 a.m. Friday to 7843 Lankershim Blvd., at Strathern Street.
Officers learned a motorist was southbound on Lankershim and struck the victim while he was crossing the street, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Arata was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Thursday, two pedestrians were killed crossing a street in Sylmar, where one of the victims was in a wheelchair.
