An investigation was continuing Tuesday into a two-vehicle collision in Gardena that left a passenger in one of the vehicles dead.
According to Gardena Police Department Traffic Bureau spokesman Sgt. Daniel Guzzo, officers responded to the intersection of Berendo Avenue and Redondo Beach Boulevard around 5:40 p.m. Monday on a report of a collision between a red Mitsubishi and a blue Ford Mustang.
Guzzo said all occupants of the vehicles were taken to hospitals, but a passenger from the Mitsubishi later died.
The Los Angeles County Department Medical Examiner withheld the person’s name pending notification of relatives.
Guzzo said the driver of one of the vehicles apparently made an unsafe turn, leading to the collision.
