A brush fire burned a half-acre of vegetation in the Shadow Hills area Wednesday, but there were no reports of injuries or structural damage.

According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange, 47 firefighters battled the brush fire by air and ground around 1:30 p.m. in the 11400 block of West Sheldon Street. It took crews about 20 minutes to knock down the flames.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation. Fire crews were expected to be at the scene through the afternoon to fully contain and mop up the blaze.
