A woman in her 50s was in critical condition Wednesday after she suffered burns and smoke inhalation at a fire at a two-story boarded up home in Koreatown.
Firefighters responded at 3:49 a.m. to 905 S. Ardmore Ave. and James M. Wood Boulevard where they encountered heavy flames, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
A 21-year-old man sustained minor injuries from jumping out of the house from the second floor, Prange said. Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.
It took 45 firefighters 17 minutes to extinguish the fire.
