Three people were killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Azusa after two motorcyclists crashed into five vehicles and police Thursday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Officers responded around 4 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Arrow Highway, according to the Azusa Police Department.

Two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on Arrow Highway at high speeds before one of the motorcycles went airborne and struck a pedestrian, who was standing on a street corner, NBC 4 reported.

The motorcyclist and the pedestrian were pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcycles collided with at least five vehicles at the intersection, CBS 2 reported.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and the second motorcyclist, who also went airborne, was taken to a hospital, where they pronounced dead.
