Three men killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Azusa after two motorcyclists crashed into five vehicles were identified Friday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Officers responded around 4 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Arrow Highway, according to the Azusa Police Department.
Two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on Arrow Highway at high speeds before one motorcycle went airborne and struck a pedestrian, who was standing on a street corner, NBC 4 reported.
The motorcyclist and pedestrian were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the medical examiner’s office, 31-year-old Brandon Mendoza and 22-year-old Marcos Loera were the ones who died at the scene.
The motorcycles collided with at least five vehicles at the intersection, CBS 2 reported.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and the second motorcyclist, who also went airborne, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner’s office identified him as 23-year-old Gabriel Abarca.
