A pedestrian was killed Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle on the San Diego (5) Freeway in San Juan Capistrano.
The crash was reported at 7:42 p.m. on the southbound 5 just south of Camino Capistrano, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white Nissan pickup truck and a gold Toyota sedan reportedly collided and were on the right shoulder, witnesses said.
It was unclear whether the man who was killed had exited one of the vehicles and was struck by another vehicle. He was described as 19 years old.
Southbound traffic was diverted off the freeway at Camino Capistrano for the investigation and clean-up.
