County authorities Wednesday identified a man who was killed in a collision with a big rig while riding a motorcycle on the Orange (57) Freeway.
The collision was reported at 1:46 a.m. Tuesday and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound freeway and Sunset Crossing where they found the motorcyclist, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
Mingyuan Zhang, 24, was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and pronounced Zhang dead at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued by the CHP for all lanes of the southbound freeway and officers diverted all traffic off the freeway to nearby Pomona.
The collision backed up the freeway for several hours.
