A vehicle plunged several hundred feet down a cliff in the Beverly Crest area Friday, leaving the driver critically injured.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange, the crash was reported just before 5 p.m. in the 8100 block of West Skyline Drive. Prange said the vehicle fell “hundreds of feet” down the cliff, landing on its roof.
With the help of a helicopter, a firefighter was lowered to the crash site, managing to pull the driver — a 27-year-old man — out of the vehicle and hoist him to safety. The unidentified man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
It was unclear what caused the vehicle to plummet down the cliff.
