One man was killed and a second critically injured in a shooting in Wilmington Monday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to Sanford Avenue and East M Street shortly after 5:10 p.m. on a report of shots fired, police said.

Two men between 40 and 50 years old were taken to a hospital in critical condition with gunshot injuries and one died, police said.

Although details remain limited, KTLA reported that authorities described the suspect as a 25-year-old, 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic man with black hair wearing a white ski mask with a skeleton face.

Police said detectives identified a vehicle involved in the shooting as an older model four-door Toyota Corolla that was last seen on East M Street and Watson Avenue, heading southbound.

It’s unclear what motivated the shooting.
