One person was killed when they were struck by a vehicle on the Pomona (60) Freeway west of East Los Angeles and Friday authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The collision was reported at 11:20 p.m. Thursday and California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a person down on the westbound 60 at Indiana Street, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to reports from the scene, the victim was struck by multiple cars on the freeway.

CHP issued a SigAlert that closed multiple lanes of the freeway for several hours.
