A fire at what authorities said was a cannabis growing operation at a one-story commercial building in North Hollywood was knocked down in less than 30 minutes Thursday.
Fire crews were called at 4:46 a.m. to 5708 N. Cahuenga Blvd. where they found smoke coming from the building’s roof, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
It took 87 firefighters 28 minutes to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported and the legal status of the growing operation is under investigation, Humphrey said.
