Investigators sought public assistance to identify a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man riding a scooter Sunday in Hollywood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a black sedan northbound on Western Avenue collided with the man on the scooter as he crossed the roadway between Sierra Vista Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard around 2:25 a.m. Sunday.
The rider was ejected from the scooter onto the roadway. The motorist continued northbound on Western without providing aid to the victim.
The driver of a silver Lexus southbound on Western also hit the scooter. That driver called 911 and remained at the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics provided medical assistance to the man and transported him to a hospital, where he died.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification to his next-of-kin.
