A 60-year-old man who was killed when he was struck by a vehicle near Los Angeles International Airport was identified by county authorities Wednesday.

Robert Mack, who was riding his bicycle when he was struck by the vehicle, was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner’s office.

The crash occurred at about 8:35 p.m. Sunday on Imperial Highway at California Street, according to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

An eastbound vehicle crashed into Mack as it crossed southbound on Imperial, she said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.

The cause of the crash was being investigated.
