An approximately 1.5-acre, slow-moving brush fire in steep terrain was contained and extinguished Thursday in Highland Park.
Fire crews were called at 3:23 a.m. to 291 S. Ave. 52, west of Arroyo Seco Parkway, where they surrounded the burning vegetation with hose lines and fire breaks, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 52 firefighters 94 minutes to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
