A Silver Alert was activated Thursday for a 75-year-old man who was reported missing after he was last seen in Montebello.
Daniel Chavez was last seen at 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Montebello Police Department.
Chavez is Latino, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes.
Authorities said Chavez is believed to be on foot, wearing dark pants and a blue windbreaker with “Security” written on it.
Anyone who sees Chavez or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
