A fire damaged a retail building at the Ovation Hollywood mall Wednesday in the heart of the Hollywood tourism district, but no one was hurt.
The fire was reported in the four-story building at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue at 12:12 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters quickly controlled a small fire in the wall of a first-floor shoe store, and no evacuations were ordered, the LAFD reported.
Some crews remained on scene, working to determine if the flames could have expended upward through the walls of the building, possibly reaching as high as the fourth floor, the LAFD reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
