A man’s body was discovered Friday off shore in the Hermosa Beach area, and an investigation was underway.
The body was found at about 7 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Hermosa Beach Police Department officers responded to the 2200 block of the Waterline regarding a human body floating in the ocean.
When officers arrived they found the victim, a white male about 40-45 years old, lying unresponsive near the shoreline, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information was not immediately available on the man’s identity or cause of death, but homicide detectives were investigating the death.
