A water main break caused a sinkhole on the side of the road and several evacuations in Hacienda Heights, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.
The water main break was reported around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Edgeridge and Tamarix Drives.
An unknown number of residents were evacuated from their homes, but no injuries were reported, according to an LASD dispatcher.
As of Tuesday morning the water main break was under control, and the Los Angeles County Public Works was working on the damage.
Los Angeles County Fire Department also responded to the scene.
