Firefighters knocked down a rubbish fire Saturday that had been burning near the Golden State (5) Freeway in Boyle Heights, authorities said.
Crews dispatched at 8:34 a.m. to the vicinity of the northbound freeway and Soto Street had the blaze out within 40 minutes of their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
