A pursuit suspect who led police on a chase from Ventura County to Tarzana was in custody Thursday evening.

The chase began in Ventura County when the suspect, who was initially wanted for refusing to stop for Ventura County Sheriff’s Department deputies regarding vehicle code violations, fled from the deputies in red SUV on a chase that led them through San Fernando Valley neighborhoods, NBC 4 reported.

California Highway Patrol officers deployed a P.I.T maneuver after the suspect drove recklessly, at times driving multiple times in circles with officers in pursuit, according to NBC4.

The suspect eventually abandoned the SUV in Tarzana and ran away, Fox 11 reported. Officers caught up to the fleeing suspect and took him into custody
