A motorist was fatally injured Friday in a crash into the Dominguez Channel in the Carson area.
The crash was reported about 3:45 a.m. Friday near Avalon Boulevard and the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead, according to the fire department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. No other casualties were reported, according to the fire department.
Information on the identity of the fatally injured person was not immediately available. The cause of the crash was under investigation, the sheriff’s department reported.
