Police sought the public’s help Friday in locating an assault with a deadly weapon suspect who struck two people with objects in separate attacks on the same day in Long Beach.

The first assault was reported near the intersection of 21st Street and Locust Avenue shortly after 9:45 a.m. Thursday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police said the suspect allegedly struck the victim with an unknown object as the person was walking with a child inside a stroller. The child did not sustain any injuries.

Detectives discovered that a similar assault occurred shortly after 12:25 p.m. Thursday near 21st Street and Pine Avenue, where the suspect struck a victim.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-5-inch to 5-foot-7-inch tall man with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a white hat, a turquoise sweater over a black hooded sweater, blue pants, white and black shoes, and a black bag with shoulder straps around his neck hanging from his chest.
