One person was injured, two utility poles toppled and a fire hydrant sheared in a crash in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles Saturday evening.
The crash was reported at 7:19 p.m. Saturday in front of 2321 S. La Brea Avenue, just north of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.
The patient suffered minor to moderate injuries, Humphrey said.
The water from the sheared fire hydrant poured onto the roof of a single-story house but did not result in a collapse hazard, he said.
All lanes of La Brea Avenue were shut down in both directions between 21st Street and the 10 Freeway while the damage was cleared. Motorists were being detoured away from the area.
