An armed barricaded man prompted a residential evacuation Wednesday evening in Compton.
Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau personnel responded to the 400 block of North Rose Avenue, between Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue, around 5 p.m. Wednesday to assist Compton Sheriff’s Station deputies with a barricaded armed suspect, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
It was unclear what motivated the suspect to barricade himself.
The standoff remained ongoing late Wednesday evening.
